We took one of my high school students to a park yesterday to take some pictures for her senior slide show and yearbook. Justin was on staff through both her older sisters high school years and I have been on staff since she was a sophomore. We love them dearly as well as their family. There are so many kids that Justin and I have had a privilege of being a part of their lives in some way. Some times it did feel like a sacrifice. When I was looking back on some of the pictures from yesterday I came across a few with my kids, who also love this girl and her family dearly. It made me think about the time that we are and have invested in our youths lives, and how some day, I hope, they will be the ones investing into our three teen daughters lives. When I have looked at the time spent in ministry on a small scale it can seem daunting and sometimes as if it makes no difference. But when I try to look at the big picture, it does seem worth while and not so sacrificial, and more of a blessing to our family.
